The Bomb

I was sitting in my office one morning when my service manager charged in and cried out that there was a bomb under one of our customer’s cars. I ran out to the service department, and sure enough, there was a fairly large black box with a blinking red light under the car.
 
I called the police, and the bomb squad quickly arrived on the scene. After a cursory inspection, they determined that it might very well be a bomb and moved the vehicle to the back lot and proceeded to disarm it. Our service department was shut down for almost the entire morning during this process.

Once they had disarmed the bomb, they proceeded to tell me that the “bomb” was a tracking device that had been installed on the vehicle. I wasn’t all that worked up about it until the customer, a female, arrived on the scene and started questioning me about why there was so much excitement over her car.
 
Without thinking, I explained what had happened. Then, all hell broke loose. It seems that she was going through a heated divorce with her husband, who was a high-profile person. Her husband had apparently placed the tracking device on her car. .
 
When I walked away from her, she had the husband on the phone and nothing she said could be reprinted here. I was waiting for the call from the husband. The husband did call, and to my surprise, he apologized for the incident.
