Washington Governor Signs Bill Favoring Tesla

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington State will continue to allow Tesla to continue its operations and expand, thanks to a bill signed by Gov. Jay Inslee this week, Automotive News reports.

The bill states that a manufacturer that held a dealership license as of January 1, 2014, would be exempt from the law prohibiting manufacturers from selling directly to consumers. Tesla has held a dealership license since the first of this year.

U.S. Court of Appeals Rules in Favor of Dropped Chrysler Dealers

The court’s decision will allow the case pitting 148 defunct Chrysler dealerships against the U.S. government to proceed. The dealerships were closed as part of Chrysler’s 2009 bailout agreement.
