GSFSGroup Launches Project to Support Veterans

July 08, 2015

HOUSTON — For the first time this month, GSFSGroup associates collected, assembled and delivered hundreds of care packages to the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston for military veterans. The service project will now become an annual activity for the company.

GSFSGroup’s leadership team reviewed several options for community service and this project struck a chord as an opportunity to serve others who have lived a life of service and are now in need of support.

“We are privileged to have the opportunity to meet and talk with the men and women who have served our country with honor as we distributed care packages at the hospital,” said Steve Amos, president of GSFSGroup. “It was rewarding to see our associates pull together to make this service project meaningful and successful.

“From collecting and assembling the care packages to personally delivering them to the veterans, our associates were invested and tireless in their efforts to give back to these individuals who have sacrificed for our country,” he added.

While delivering the care packages, associates were able to talk with veterans and hear about their experiences.  This project inspired an enthusiastic response from the entire GSFSGroup as well as other affiliated companies.
